Week 66

October 26, 2015

Well this week was a really great Week. Elder Diaz and I worked super hard this week!!

This week we contacted, contacted, and contacted some more. And it payed off!! We were able to find some very positive people. I love meeting new people and hearing of their stories from life, their desires to come unto Christ. I have learned a lot about how to be more humble, and respectful, just by meeting these people. They don't know it, but they are changing my life as well....

Well I guess the big story of the week is that we had a Multi Mission Conference once again. We were pleased to have, Elder Snow, and Elder Alonso, from the Seventy, their wife's, and Brother Turley. Brother Turley some how knew Elder Diaz. After the meeting Elder Diaz and I were invited to take a picture with Elder Turley. Pretty cool meeting. I learned a lot about keeping records and doing even more to become a better misionary.

So I got bit by a dog as well this week. On Saturday night we were walking home to our house. We were crossing a normal route when I heard a short growl, bark, then my leg hurt....haha. It got me just above my left ankle. It broke skin but it wasnt deep enough to get stiches. I have just been watching it. The mission nurse and Hermana Russell have been helping me take care of it and making sure it stays healthy. Its fine. The worst part was that I was wearing my new Nike pants...wow! Just got a little hole in it though.

Everything is great. I love the mission
. Take care!!

Week 65 - This week was full of rain, sun, mud, and contacting!

October 19, 2015

Wow! This week was full of rain, sun, mud, and contacting!

This week was a little bit of a different week from last week. We didn't have any baptisms this week. Elder Diaz and I were just looking for new investigators all week. We put in a lot of time in the streets talking to everyone and trying to find new people to teach.

It is a lot of fun to teach with Elder Diaz. He is learning super fast and is going to be an awesome missionary! He is willing to do everything to find and help investigators. He has taught me a lot about teaching the investigators their needs and not just the lessons. He is definately a great companion!

Wow....So I got a really bad cold this week and it rained a lot this week. I was super wet getting home from working on Friday.... Haha it wasn't super fun walking in the rain with a cold, but everything is good. On Thursday it rained super hard at about 2 in the afternoon and it rained for two hours just a steady down pour. After about half an hour all the kids just ran out into the street to play soccer and play in the rain! We got home soaking wet that night.

I went and did divisions this week with another area in the zone. This area is right on Lake Managua. We saw some really neat stuff as we walked back into some really cool streets that were right on the lakes edge as the sun was setting. I wish I would have had my camara. There were a bunch of people out there fishing in little row boats and up to there necks in the water catching fish. Haha! We found some really cool people right there next to the lake.

So cool story. The family that got baptised last week. The husband, Oscar, got the Aaronic Priesthood this week at church. He was super nervous! All this week he has been reading in Doctrine and Covenants to learn more about the priesthood. His wife is always reading in the book of Mormon. Every time we pass they always ask for more and more to read. They are so amazing! This week Elder Mateo and I taught the Gospel Principles Class because the normal teacher moved to spain. She was also our lunch cita. So we also are eating at a new families house for lunch. But there was a new family in class so I asked Oscar to get up and bear his testimony. It was so amazing to hear his testimony. I know that the atonement is real. And if we are willing to apply it into our lives it can change us very quickly!

The work is going great. I love Nicaragua, I love Gallo Pinto, I love the people, but I also love my Savior Jesus Christ. He lives. He died for me.

I love you guys!

Week 64, I love this work and I love this gospel!

October 12, 2015

Wow, this week was a week I will never forget! What blessings I have received this week. I have learned so much about being a better representative of Jesus Christ. I love this work and I love this gospel!

This week we had the opportunity to go to a multi zone conference with President and Hermana Russell. I was filled with great inspiration and guidance. They both gave great talks. I really enjoyed the talk from President Russell. He spoke about being a missionary consecrated. He focused on a talk about being the 4th missionary. It was a great talk and we all got a copy of the talk afterwords. Elder Mateo and I also taught a class on how to better retain the converts after baptism. It was a lot of fun to see all the missionaries and learn from President and Hermana Russell.

This week we were so blessed to see the baptisms of the family we were teaching. It was a great day. They had a lot of their family come and see their marriage and wedding and it was a great opportunity to teach some of the family who came from different religious back grounds. I was so happy that day. They are a family that I will always remember and be grateful for. They have taught me a lot. As we taught them, they taught me truths of the gospel as they told me about their personal experiences living the gospel and how they received their own testimony.

I love you guys!!

We have been excited for this family to be baptized.  We have loved hearing Elder Anderson speak about this family and their progression in the gospel. They are "GOLD"!

Week 63

October 5, 2015

Wow what an amazing experience it was to be able to listen to the voice of our Prophet, President Monson. Many of the talks I really, really enjoyed including the talk from President Monson in priesthood session that said, keep the commandments! That is a very clear statement from our Prophet and it is what our Heavenly Father wants us to hear! I also really enjoyed the talks Sunday morning from President Nelson, and President Eyring. This was a very powerful conference with a very powerful message.

We are still preparing our way awesome family this week for baptism. They went to almost all the Conference sessions and took notes, then asked us about conference afterwords!! haha, Yes!!!! They are doing great and are preparing to get baptized this week on Saturday! We were able to have really great lessons with them this week with members. I have loved to see the change in the people's lives as they come more unto Christ.

There is not much more to write about. I love the work and just keep working to find new people to teach. Something that I have learned is that there are always, always, people waiting for us to teach them. Whatever area, whatever part of the world. We just have to go and find them. That is something I love to do in missionary work is to contact. It is fun to get to know a new person then to help them realize the importance of the Restored Gospel. I meet lots of new people everyday that come from all walks and paths of life.

Elder Diaz is doing awesome!! It is really fun to be his companion and to work with him. He is a great missionary and has taught me a lot about how to be a better missionary! I know we will even have more success as we are companions.

I love you!!
